Coaching Experience
Katelyn Skinner has multiple years of experience coaching on both the girls and boys sidelines. She began her coaching career as the assistant varsity girls’ coach at The Taft School who competes in the Founder’s League. Skinner was then appointed the head varsity boy’s coach at HMTCA, a local magnet high school. Currently she is the assistant varsity boys’ basketball coach at Choate Rosemary Hall, another Founder’s League competitor. In addition to her basketball experience, Skinner has worked with both volleyball and softball JV/varsity programs.
Playing Experience
Skinner spent her collegiate playing days at the University of Hartford from 2012-2016 under the direction of coach Jen Rizzotti. A three-point specialist, Skinner connected on 36.1% 3-pt FG in her career. At Homer-Center High School, she is the reigning all-time leading scorer with 1,766 points. She was named Gazette Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons as a junior and senior and selected to the Associated Press All-State First Team in her final two seasons Skinner led the Wildcats to their first ever state tournament appearance as a junior, but didn’t stop there as they competed in the PA State Class A Final Four. Multi-faceted, she was a standout athlete in volleyball and softball as well.
Skinner currently resides in Wallingford, CT with her partner Rachel where she teaches mathematics at Choate Rosemary Hall.
