Coaching Experience
Keyokah Mars-Garrick began her coaching career first as an assistant for the CT Storm AAU organization while still in college in 2009. After graduation with her bachelors degree in Business Management in 2012, she joined the staff at The Coast Guard Academy as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach while continuing coaching as a head coach for CT Storm, for a total of 5 years. Having spent two years as a Coast Guard Bear, Keyokah has the opportunity to return to her alma mater, The University of Hartford, as a Graduate Assistant for Coach Jennifer Rizzotti. Keyokah spent two years as Rizzotti's Graduate Assistant. After graduating from Hartford, she accepted a position at the Division III level as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Trinity College. Trinity is a renowned high academic institution that planted the seed of desire that motivated Keyokah to want to move more into the classroom setting. Stepping away from the sport in 2019 to have her son, Quincy, Keyokah came back as the assistant boy's basketball coach at Wheeler High School for both the 20-21 and 21-22 seasons. She is currently a high school special education teacher at Wheeler High School.
Playing Experience
Keyokah played high school basketball at Wheeler in North Stonington, CT winning one small Division I title in 2005-2006, receiving All-State honors and First Team All-Conference selections in her high school tenor. Keyokah was recruited by Jen Rizzotti to play at The University of Hartford from 2008-2012. She had the great fortune of experiencing two trips to the NCAA Tournament and WNIT along with winning an America East Championship in the 2010-2011 season.
